UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer mentioned the vessel had been making an attempt to cross by the English Channel on Sunday morning (June 14).
He mentioned: “Within the early hours of this morning, I directed our Armed Forces to intercept a shadow fleet oil tanker making an attempt to cross by the English Channel.

“This profitable operation delivers one more blow to Russia and reminds these fuelling Putin’s conflict in Ukraine that we are going to not allow them to cover.
“I need to thank these concerned, together with our Armed Forces and regulation enforcement officers who hold this nation protected 24 hours a day, three hundred and sixty five days a yr.”
