Parks and Outdoor

Arrow Valley Country Park covers roughly nine hundred acres, making it the largest single green space in Redditch. It offers far more than scenery. The landscape is varied, busy with wildlife, and ideal for walking, running and exploring.

The park stretches across two and a half square miles of countryside, framed by Forge Mill Needle Museum, the scheduled remains of medieval Bordesley Abbey and the Abbey Stadium to the north, with Washford Mill marking its southern reach.

The River Arrow runs straight through the park and feeds into the twenty nine acre Arrow Valley Lake. Together they create rich habitats that attract birds and other wildlife, while also supporting a wide range of outdoor activities.

The Arrow Valley Visitor Centre stands on the lakeside and serves as the park’s hub. Its café looks out across the water and the building provides space for events and meetings. Visitors will also find opportunities for fishing, water based activities and general facilities.

Arrow Valley Country Park was laid out in the nineteen seventies by the Redditch Development Corporation during the creation of the new town. It remains one of the area’s strongest assets and continues to draw residents throughout the year.

There are nine car parks across the site linked to the park’s main features. A map with locations is available below.
