Additional West Midlands faculty closures introduced amid warmth

A number of faculties have introduced early closures to guard college students amid an “excessive warmth” warning.

The UK Well being Safety Company has issued a pink well being warning for six areas of England – the West Midlands, East Midlands, South East, South West, London, and east of England – from 1am on Wednesday (June 24) till 11pm on Thursday (June 25).

Forecasters say temperatures may soar to 38C and 40C in some elements of England and Wales.

Here’s a checklist of the confirmed faculty closures as of Tuesday afternoon (June 23):

Worcestershire

Birchen Coppice Academy in Kidderminster will shut at 1pm on Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25).
Wribbenhall College will likely be closed from Tuesday (June 23) to Thursday (June 25).
ContinU Plus Academy in Kidderminster will likely be closed for pupils at 1.30pm every day for the remainder of the week.
Rigby Corridor College in Bromsgrove will likely be closing at 12pm on Wednesday (June 24), Thursday (June 25) and Friday (June 26) after the youngsters have had lunch.
Tenacres First College in Redditch which will likely be closing at 1pm on Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25).
Stoke Prior First College will likely be closed from 12pm on Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25).
Beoley First College in Bromsgrove will shut at 1.30pm on Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25).
The Bewdley College will shut at 1pm on Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25).
Burlish Park Main College in Stourport will likely be closing at 1pm on Wednesday (June 24), Thursday (June 25) and Friday (June 26).
Baxter School in Kidderminster which can shut at 12.10pm on Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25) as a result of excessive climate circumstances.
Heronswood Main College in Kidderminster will likely be closing at 12.30pm on Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25).
Unity Academy in Kidderminster will likely be closed on Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25). The college will reopen on Friday (June 26).
St John’s CE Center College in Bromsgrove will shut at 12.30pm on Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25).
Bewdley Main College will shut at 1pm on Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25).
The Stourport Excessive College & VI Kind School will shut at 12.15pm on Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25).
Offmore Main College in Kidderminster will shut at 1pm on Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25).
King Charles I College & Sixth Kind Centre in Kidderminster will shut at 12.30pm on Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25).
St Anne’s CE Main College in Bewdley will likely be closing at 1pm on Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25).
Crabbs Cross Academy in Redditch will likely be closing at 1.30pm on Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25).
Charford First College in Bromsgrove will likely be closing at 1pm on Wednesday (June 24) and Thursday (June 25). Kids unable to be collected at the moment should be collected at 3.15pm.
