‘Padelheim’, founded by local entrepreneurs Jack Stevens and Sam Lissaman, will transform an industrial unit on South Moons Moat Industrial Estate into a ‘premium, design-led’ indoor sports and social venue.
According to Jack and Sam, Padelheim will feature four courts, two fitness studios, a café/bar, and community-focused spaces.
The planning approval marks a ‘major milestone’ for the founders, who have spent over a year developing the concept.
“Padelheim isn’t just about courts, it’s about creating an experience,” Jack said.
“We want it to be a place people come to spend time, not just play, bringing something new to the area that goes beyond sport.”
Padel, a fast-paced doubles sport combining elements of tennis and squash, has seen rapid growth in recent years.
According to Jack and Sam, UK participation in the sport has ‘more than tripled’ in the past year alone.
The pair say that the new venue will be fully indoor, allowing year-round play, and is designed to be more than just a sports facility.
Alongside court bookings, Padelheim plans to offer coaching programmes, social events, corporate days, and inclusive sessions aimed at groups such as retirees, beginners, and families.
Sam said: “This isn’t just about sport – it’s about creating a place where people can connect. Whether it’s young professionals, families, or older members of the community, we want Padelheim to feel like a home for everyone.”
Jack and Sam are also hoping that the new indoor Padel court will benefit the wider community by creating new jobs, and partnerships with schools and organisations to promote physical activity and wellbeing.
After planning permission for the new court was approved, Padelheim is scheduled to open in summer 2026.
